Taken from an original manuscript written in Danelaw Middle English which is held at the Wellcome Library, Francis Davey has extracted the fascinating account of the journey of Richard of Lincoln from England to Jerusalem in 1454. The translation describes his first-hand experiences of the journey, including shrines visited and expenses incurred. Several colour images from the original manuscript are also included in the book, with a sample below.
